4 Block Set: Divine Mercy, St Faustina, St John Paul II, and Mary Mother of Mercy Patron Saint Blocks with a cute cotton drawstring giftbag handstamped with the AlmondRod Toys logo. Original art by AlmondRod Toys
You may not have heard of "Our Lady of Mercy." It's actually a title given to an icon called Our Lady of the Gate at Dawn that was venerated by both JP II and Faustina in Poland. In Faustina's diary she actually writes about a vision she had where that icon came alive and spoke to her. Given John Paul II's deep devotion to Mary, I loved the idea of making a Mary block to go along with this set. St Faustina, John Paul II and Mother of Mercy, pray for us! Jesus, I trust in You!
These handmade block is just the right size for small hands. It can be used for imaginative play, building, stacking or collecting. All AlmondRod blocks are easy to care for, hard to break, educational, inspirational and versatile (for tots, little kids, or big kids).
I have a decal copy of my original art on the front. On the back there is a quote or a prayer chosen to inspire little ones and the one that cleans up behind them. The saint's name, feast day and patronage are also listed - I didn't just want these blocks to be cute, I wanted to give a tiny glimpse of the saint's inspiring story. It is so hard to choose just a few words for each of them, but I hope there is just enough information to be a reminder and an inspiration for further learning.
HARD MAPLE BLOCKS: the precision cut and super smooth maple wood blocks are approximately 2 3/4 inches x 1 1/2 inches x 3/4 inches. No chemicals or finishes are used.
DECAL: Artwork and prayers are printed professionally on heavy duty, high-tack, weatherproof polyester paper - the same kind that bumper stickers are made of, which gives them as much baby proof durability as possible. :) They are hand cut and laminated so the image is incredibly durable and scratch resistant.
NONTOXIC: No chemicals or finishes on the wood at all. The decal is laminated polyester. The inks are laminated so they never come in contact with children.
